Amy Griggs Kliger

Connecting with the listener is essential to the success of any communication. My specialty is helping my clients make that winning connection. After graduating with a Performing Arts degree, I was accepted into Stella Adler's training program, and went on to work as an actor in network television, off-broadway, stock and touring companies. As a spokeswoman, I represented major corporations such as SONY, CON EDISON, CANON, MINOLTA, and IKON hosting global conferences, moderating panels, and serving as Mistress of Ceremonies. Having experienced the challenges of facing an audience, I utilize easily accessible, tried and true techniques. My coaching is hand-tailored and goal-specific, benefiting a broad range of clients including CEOs and executives of media, bio-tech, and publishing firms as well as sales people and fundraising specialists. I am committed to achieving that winning connection for each of my clients.

Successful Performance — in a single presentation, a long-term project, as a team leader, in your career or life — starts with presenting yourself first. I help clients understand perceptions, master assets, and develop skills in order to “present” the best message possible. Over the past 17 years, I have developed a unique methodology that provides a roadmap for clients to embrace strengths, Identify Intention, and Develop Professional Ideal Outcome. Clients include Fortune 500, mid-level firms and non-profit organizations. I began my coaching career in 1998 as a Talent Coach with Talent Dynamics, working exclusively with news, weather and sports anchors. I gradually shifted my focus to the person on the other side of the microphone: that non-professional communicator whose job title and industry required public speaking, media interviews and events. Prior to becoming a Coach, I worked extensively as a spokeswoman and actress in all media and venue — film, television, radio, and theater, which served as an invaluable foundation for my work. My strengths include quickly assessing my clients’ needs, embracing their industry and unique challenges to put them at ease, while empowering through imaginative solutions. My years of experience gives me a unique perspective into analyzing and offering perspective in career guidance, as well as professional projects, events and meetings. I am a proud member of the Executive Women in Golf (www.ewga.org) SAG-AFTRA, the SAG Film Society, and AEA. I have been classified as a Woman Owned Business in the MWBE for New York, serve on the Advisory Board for the Department of Speech, Communications and Theatre Arts at BMCC and am the President of the New York book club Lit Chicks. My book, Opening Your Presence is available on this website on the Buy the Book page or Amazon.com.

You've heard my voice, read my words, and experienced my personality without ever knowing who I am. I've voiced hundreds of commercials, and have over 30 feature films to my credit. I successfully transitioned to the world of advertising and communication to become an award-winning creative director and producer, and recently moved into the university classroom, developing one of the nation's first cross-disciplinary degrees in television/theater for Texas Christian University and I continue that work through City University of New York. I am still heard in radio and television voice-overs. It is this broad range of experience that gives me a discerning eye and ear for maximizing my clients' vision.
